Expat health insurance has a maximum term limit of five years. This five-year term starts on the first day you arrive in Germany.
Students under 30 are eligible for student health insurance. If you plan on working part-time while studying, such as a working student job or mini-job, and make more than €520 a month, you’ll be required to have German health insurance.
